In this picture we see the dinosaur footprints imprinted on the rocks. Some of them of considerable size. From here the route goes into a eucalyptus forest with a steep but fairly short and in a few minutes, will take us to a junction where turning aside from the path a few meters to the left ...

...we arrive at a lookout (see picture below) from which we have the last views of "La Griega Beach". Turning on our heels to continue up into the forest, to quickly go down again towards the coast.

Soon we get to this junction, where if we go right, we will reach the pretty village of Huerres, from where we could also have started our route. PR.AS-196 route, is called Route of the Mysteries of the Sea and is a short variant that runs from the Village of Huerres to La Isla Beach with a distance of 3.8 km each way.

In this picture, looking back, we see all the path we have traveled so far following the coastline along the cliffs with the Village of Huerres on the left and, in the background is Lastres with its fishing port.

...until we reached to a villa with a garden leading down to the very edge of the beach (the garden of the picture), and that forces us to continue walking along the sand with low tide, or continue to  the right onto a street that leads within a few meters to the main road, by which we will continue for about 200 m to turn left along a narrow path between walls, which leads us to the beach Barrigón Beach , and then to the Espasa Beach belonging  already to Caravia Council.

Upon arrival at Arenal, the front wheel of my mountain bike was almost airless and with such bad luck that, with the rattle of the path, I lost the pump, so I pulled up the road for 2 km to the village of Prado, in the main road, and as I did not find any neighbour who had a pump, I went to the bar for a cheese platter and a beer until the bus to Colunga arrived.

We hope you enjoyed the hike and if you urge to do it, ye may tell your experience.

Greetings
